Excellent, authentic, delicious Chinese food. My Chinese wife is a fantastic cook, and I've travelled a fair bit in China and eaten a (very!) wide range of dishes at the top and bottom of the market, so I know a bit about the subject and can say that this is good-quality, interesting but unpretentious cuisine. It's like good Chinese home cooking, which is a compliment. A lot of quite spicy stuff, and some good offal dishes if you like that sort of thing (I do!). Clean and comfortable venue, friendly service. Highly recommended.Update August :Just had hotpot here today with friends. Wouldn't normally be my choice of meal for a warm summer evening, but have to say it was really excellent. The spicier side of the broth pan was not too spicy, but enough to be exciting. Good quality ingredients all round - lamb, beef, tofu, noodles, lotus root, various delicious mushrooms, winter melon, etc., etc.
I was very pleased with the place. The service was to a high standard and the food was delicious.Vegetarian options: Soups and various vegetable dishes.
Friends from out of town came down to visit and were looking to have something with a little more flavour and spice. Another friend told me about this restaurant and we decided to try it out.Probably a little know thing about this place is that there is a parking court at the rear, otherwise you can park around the residential streets nearby.Whilst the decor isn't anything fancy, the atmosphere is decent and comfortable. We ordered a number of dishes that were recommend to us. This included the lamb (note, we were recommended this to us and had pre ordered this), fish, veg and duck. Each dish was very flavoursome, just about the right amount of spice and really quite full.Would certainly recommend this place if your in the area.I didn't take pictures of the dessert, which consisted of deep fried glutinous rice stick and fried pumpkins. Very tasty.Parking: spaces parking court at rear.
